Research and Development
At its core, Adeptify is a research and development lab: we build what we see our ongoing research indicates, what colleagues suggest, experiment and iterate.
What we offer comes from decades of ongoing research and development, continually evolving. We work in the spirit of action research: what we build is used in clients' work, and what they and their development mentors find in using it shapes what we build next.
In this section we describe our method, the part AI plays in it, what we are building, and the research project two of our programs belong to. We describe what runs now along with ongoing projects.
Research and development on the Center, now
Most of our research and development happens on the Leader Development Center itself, part by part, while initial clients use it. Each round of real use shows us something, and we change what needs changing.
The Center as a whole
We run the Center with first clients on pilot terms. Each engagement shows how the parts work together: the intake, the assessment, the debrief, the loops and the round after. We revise the process between engagements.
The interview
We refine the interviewer round by round, from what we see in real interviews, and we are building more versions for more kinds of roles.
The complexity of thinking
We are rebuilding how the complexity of thinking is analyzed, as a series of small steps: the interview is analyzed one passage at a time, the links between passages are judged one by one, and every judgment is kept, so that any result can be traced to the passages it rests on. We test it against expert-scored cases before it is used with anyone.
The skill library
We are rebuilding the skill library one domain at a time, starting with self-mastery. Each area is built from the tasks people face down to what a person can practice, every skill and every link is checked, and each area is reviewed before it joins the map.
The engines behind each step
Each step runs on what suits it, from plain code to a small or a larger language model. We test which suits each step, test again as models change, and watch where the data goes.
